Coastal waters from Okaloosa-Walton County Line to Mexico Beach out

20 NM...

Waters from Okaloosa-Walton County Line to Mexico Beach from 20 to 60

NM...



At 803 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts

were located along a line extending from 15 nm north of East

Choctawhatchee Bay to 20 nm southeast of Okaloosa Deep Water Reef,

moving northeast at 25 knots.



HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage 

         vessels...and create suddenly higher waves. Make sure all 

         on board are in a secure location and wearing life jackets. 

         Expect wind gusts in excess of 34 knots...suddenly higher 

         waves...frequent lightning...and heavy downpours. Make sure 

         all on board are wearing life jackets.



Locations impacted include...

Laguna Beach and Panama City Beach.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.



Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily

overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor

immediately.

...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WATERS...



The areas affected include...

  Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line 0-20 nm...

  Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line 20-60 nm...



At 905 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable

of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. These

thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 12 nm

northeast of Daytona Beach Shores to 10 nm northeast of Bethune 

Beach to near Apollo Beach, moving north at 25 knots. Scattered 

showers and isolated storms were also observed on radar around 30 nm 

off of the Volusia coast moving northward.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor

immediately until these storms pass.
