...THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING THE WATERS...



The areas affected include...

  Coastal waters from Fernandina Beach to St. Augustine FL out 20 

  NM...

  Coastal waters from St. Augustine to Flagler Beach FL out 20 NM...



At 343 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable 

of producing winds up to 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located 

along a line extending from 14 nm southwest of Palm Valley to 19 nm 

west of Guana River State Park, moving southeast at 10 knots.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor

immediately until these storms pass.

The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Apalachee Bay or Coastal Waters From Keaton Beach to Ochlockonee

  River Fl out to 20 Nm...



* Until 445 PM EDT.



* At 349 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 13 nm northwest of

  Marker 24 Barge, moving east at 15 knots.



  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated.



  IMPACT...Expect wind gusts in excess of 34 knots...suddenly higher 

           waves...frequent lightning...and heavy downpours. Make 

           sure all on board are wearing life jackets.



* The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
