...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER THE WATERS...



The areas affected include...

  Lake Pontchartrain...



At 820 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable

of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located

over Orleans Marina, moving northwest at 15 knots.



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe

harbor immediately until this activity passes.

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...

  Lyon County in northwestern Iowa...

  Southwestern Osceola County in northwestern Iowa...

  Sioux County in northwestern Iowa...

  Northwestern O'Brien County in northwestern Iowa...



* Until 930 AM CDT.



* At 848 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line

  extending from Alcester to near Struble, moving northeast at 35

  mph.



  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated.



  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage 

           to roofs, siding, and trees.



* Severe thunderstorms will be near...

  Sioux Center, Ireton, Hudson, and Maurice around 855 AM CDT.

  Rock Valley and Fairview around 905 AM CDT.



Other locations in the path of these severe thunderstorms include

Hull, Inwood, Boyden and Doon.
