FOR CLINTON...NORTHERN CLAY...NORTHWESTERN RAY...CALDWELL...EAST

CENTRAL PLATTE AND SOUTHEASTERN DEKALB COUNTIES...



At 301 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line

extending from near Cameron to near Lathrop to Holt to near

Smithville, moving east at 60 mph.



HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.



Locations impacted include...

Liberty, Excelsior Springs, Cameron, Smithville, Kearney, Platte

City, Lawson, Plattsburg, Lathrop, Hamilton, Polo, Holt, Osborn,

Crystal Lakes, Kingston, Excelsior Estates, Woods Heights, Kidder,

Mosby, and Homestead.



This includes the following highways...

 Interstate 35 in Missouri between mile markers 20 and 56.

 Interstate 29 between mile markers 16 and 17.

 Interstate 435 between mile markers 31 and 32, and between mile

markers 41 and 45.

The storms which prompted the warning have weakened below severe

limits, and no longer pose an immediate threat to life or property.

Therefore, the warning has been allowed to expire.  However, gusty

winds and heavy rain are still possible with these thunderstorms.

A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas...

  Coastal waters from Pascagoula Mississippi to Stake Island 

  Louisiana out 20 to 60 NM...



At 330 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable

of producing winds to around 30 knots and weak waterspouts. This

thunderstorm was located 26 nm southwest of Farewell Buoy, moving

east at 15 knots.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe

harbor immediately until this activity passes.



Brief, weak waterspouts are possible with this activity. Remain on

alert in case warnings are issued for waterspout development.



Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or nearest law enforcement

agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service

forecast office.
