The areas affected include...

  Waters from Edisto Beach SC to Savannah GA out 60 NM...

  Coastal waters from South Santee River to Edisto Beach SC out 20

  NM...



Radar and satellite imagery indicate a line of showers are capable of

generating funnel clouds or waterspouts until noon. Conditions will

become less favorable for waterspouts this afternoon as the sea

breeze begins to form along the beaches.

The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Waters from Okaloosa-Walton County Line to Mexico Beach from 20 to

  60 NM...



* Until 1115 AM CDT.



* At 1019 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing

  waterspouts was located 23 nm southeast of Okaloosa Deep Water

  Reef, or 31 nm southwest of Panama City Beach, moving east at 10

  knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage 

           vessels...and create suddenly higher waves. Make sure all 

           on board are in a secure location and wearing life 

           jackets. Expect wind gusts in excess of 34 

           knots...suddenly higher waves...frequent lightning...and 

           heavy downpours. Make sure all on board are wearing life 

           jackets.



* The severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily

overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor

immediately.
