A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas...

  Coastal waters from Port Fourchon Louisiana to Lower Atchafalaya 

  River LA from 20 to 60 NM...

  Coastal waters from Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River to 

  Port Fourchon Louisiana from 20 to 60 NM...



At 1051 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a cluster of strong

thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This

cluster of thunderstorms is generally located 41 nm south of

Louisiana Offshore Oil Port, or 55 nm south of Timbalier Island,

moving south at 5 knots.



Mariners can expect widespread gusty winds to around 30 knots, higher

waves, and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe

harbor immediately until this activity passes.
