...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WATERS AROUND ST CROIX...



The areas affected include...

  Anegada Passage east of Virgin Gorda and Saint Croix south to 

  17N...

  Caribbean Waters of Puerto Rico from 10 NM to 17N, including the 

  Coastal Waters of Saint Croix...



At 740 AM AST, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable 

of producing winds to around 40 knots and frequent lightning.. These 

thunderstorms were located over the waters around St Croix, moving 

southwest at 15 knots.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor

immediately until this storm passes.
