* Special Marine Warning for...

  Gulf Waters from East Cape Sable to Chokoloskee 20 to 60 nm out and

  beyond 5 fathoms...

  Gulf of America from west end of Seven Mile Bridge to Halfmoon

  Shoal out to 5 fathoms...



* Until 100 PM EDT.



* At 1200 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Gulfside 9

  Reef, moving northwest at 10 knots.



  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  IMPACT...Expect wind gusts in excess of 34 knots, suddenly higher 

           waves, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours.

  Gulfside 10 Reef, Gulfside 8 Reef, Gulfside 9 Reef, and Gulfside 5

  Reef.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Boaters should seek safe harbor as quickly, and as safely as

possible. When downpours reduce visibility, slow down.



Prepare for wind gusts in excess of 34 knots, steep and fast-building

seas, frequent lightning, and blinding downpours. Stay low or go

below, and make sure all on board are wearing life jackets.

At 1113 AM CDT...A strong thunderstorm was located over Fort Gaines,

or near Sand Island Lighthouse...moving north at 15 knots.



Locations impacted include...

Central Dauphin Island, East Fowl River Bridge, Sand Island

Lighthouse, Dauphin Island Bridge, Fort Gaines, Fort Morgan, Western

Dauphin Island, Heron Bay, Alabama Port, and Portersville Bay.



The primary threats from this storm are wind gusts up to 30 knots...

locally higher waves...and heavy downpours. Boaters should consider

seeking safe harbor until this storm has passed.



Weather conditions support the development of waterspouts.

Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous

waves and seas. If a waterspout is sighted...seek safe harbor

immediately.
