...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM MDT THIS

AFTERNOON FOR NORTHEASTERN CIBOLA COUNTY...



At 1243 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated the heavy rain has ended

across the warned area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen

around Skyline. The threat for flooding impacts will continue, but no

additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is ongoing or

expected to begin shortly.



HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing

         flash flooding.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban

         areas, highways, streets and underpasses.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  McCartys, Skyline-Ganipa, Acomita Lake and North Acomita Village.



This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 94 and 98.



Tribal police reported that water is flowing in area arroyos around

Skyline, the Acoma Community Center, Pueblo Road, and Reservation

Routes 32 and 38. Do not drive through flood waters.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
