The areas affected include...



  Eastern Long Island Sound...

  Peconic and Gardiners Bays...



At 838 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms. These 

thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near 

Charlestown Breachway to Gardiners Island, moving northwest at 25 

knots.



There is already a gale warning in effect so wind gusts up to 45 kt 

can be expected.



Locations impacted include...

Gardiners Island, Orient Point, Fishers Island Sound, Madison Reef,

Gardiners Bay, The Race, Six Mile Reef, New London Harbor, Shelter

Island, and Essex Village.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gale force winds, locally higher waves, 

lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek safe 

harbor immediately until hazardous weather passes.
