The areas affected include...



  Central Long Island Sound...



At 958 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms. These 

thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Central Long 

Island Sound to Great South Bay, moving west at 25 knots.



There is already a gale warning in effect so wind gusts up to 45 kt 

can be expected.



Locations impacted include...

Falkner Island, Mouth of the Housatonic River, Smithtown Bay, Central

Long Island Sound, Herod Point, Port Jefferson Harbor, Stratford

Shoal, and Bridgeport.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gale force winds, locally higher waves, 

lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek safe 

harbor immediately until hazardous weather passes.
