...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER THE ATLANTIC WATERS OFF APOLLO 

BEACH... 



The areas affected include...

  Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line 0-20 nm...



At 1133 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm,

capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was

located near Apollo Beach, or 8 nm east of Oak Hill. The thunderstorm

was nearly stationary.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Waterspouts are possible with this activity. Remain on the alert in

case warnings are issued for waterspout development.

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Volusia-Brevard County Line to Sebastian Inlet 0-20 nm...



* Until 1230 PM EDT.



* At 1143 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing

  waterspouts was located near Playalinda Beach. The severe

  thunderstorm was nearly stationary.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can can quickly form and capsize boats, 

           damage vessels and create locally hazardous seas. Make 

           sure all on board are wearing life jackets. Expect wind 

           gusts in excess of 34 knots, suddenly higher waves, 

           lightning and heavy downpours. Make sure all on board are 

           wearing life jackets. Return to safe harbor if possible.



* Locations impacted include...

  Playalinda Beach and Klondike Beach.
