The areas affected include...

Gulf of America including Dry Tortugas and Rebecca Shoal Channel...



At 419 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists detected a a

strong thunderstorm, capable of producing wind gusts near 30 knots.

This thunderstorm was located 11 nm west of W Tower, moving northwest

at 15 knots.



Locations that will be affected include...

W Tower.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Prepare for thunderstorms with wind gusts near 30 knots, locally

rough and confused seas, occasional lightning strikes, and

potentially blinding downpours. Get to a safe port as quickly, and as

safely as possible. When downpours reduce visibility, slow down.

The National Weather Service in Key West has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Gulf of America including Dry Tortugas and Rebecca Shoal Channel...



* Until 500 PM EDT.



* At 427 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 13 nm north of

  Tortugas Ecological Reserve North, moving northwest at 15 knots.



  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



  SOURCE...National Weather Service Meteorologist.



  IMPACT...Expect wind gusts in excess of 34 knots, suddenly higher 

           waves, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours.



* The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.

Intense and continuous lightning is occurring with this storm. Stay

low, or go below. Lower VHF antenna, outriggers, fishing rods, and
